Ipswich & Suffolk IT Salaries - Indicative Salary 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi All,

Just wondering if the community here could assist me on what typical salaries in the area are for a particular role. Not after any individual data, but just get an idea of the range you would consider.

I have a member of staff who I had identified as being below what I considered the typical salary for the area & have authorised a 7% pay rise this year. However the member of staff concerned has challenged this and thinks their market value is still much higher.

I was wondering if the forum could give me what range they would expect to pay for the following :-

Staff member has five years with our company & a further two years working as heldesk / 1st line support with previous company.

Does not have any Microsoft / Nortel accreditations.

Laptops / Desktops - Responsible for producing images for hardware/software, using RIS & other Microsoft deployment tools, administering AD Group Policy, etc.

Laptop / Desktop Maintenance / Warranty - Administers faults & repairs with selected support providors.

Windows Server administration - Basic server administration / management, some knowledge of VMware / ESXi, but not lead resource for this area. However is main resource for ArcServe backup used at remote sites.

PBX - Able to administer PBXs ( Nortel ), set hunt groups, routing profiles etc.

Least Cost Routing - Adminstaers our least cost routing service with the providor.

Helpdesk - Does first line helpdesk/support calls & is second line for any PC / Laptop / PBX calls.

Out of Hours - On Call for out of hours critical faults. Gets paid an additional call-out allowance for this plus overtime for any work done.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance offered.

Hi Terry,

I have asked Tessa to look in to this, I am sure that Ifftner can help with an approximate salary guide for you.

Hi Terry,

I would say that this person should be on a salary of between £22,000 and £25,000. They would have a problem getting much more on the open market in the Ipswich area.

Hope this helps

Kind regards

Tessa

Hi Tessa,

Will you be at the next forum on the 18th April to discuss this further ? Was wondering if there was any chance of putting this information on Iffner letterheaded paper ?

Thanks

Terry
